Description

Marlborough maestro Dave Clouston can't seem to put a foot wrong, this time with another stellar Pinot Noir release from his Black Cottage range. Traditionally, Black Cottage use Marlborough grown fruit but now have a welcome addition of fruit from Central Otago. The fruit is sourced from a picturesque vineyard in Cromwell where the wine is aged for 10 months in seasoned French oak barrels. With a delicate balance between fruit and savoriness, this wine has all the hallmarks of a great Pinot that all Central Otago lovers will enjoy.

Smells

Impressive black fruits and dark cherry, spicy and with a touch of toasty oak enveloping everything. This is what dark and brooding Central Otago Pinot is all about!

Tastes

The layers of fruit all follow through to the palate, perfectly complimented by a great savouriness added to the wine by the oak. There is incredibly gentle tannin, silky and smooth and the generous length of finish leaves you wanting more and more.
