Thomson Whisky Two Tone 700ml

Two Tone refers to the two kinds of cask used for the maturation of this sophisticated Kiwi whisky, European oak which formerly held New Zealand red wine and American white oak used exclusively for whisky. Thomson started with just 2 barrels purchased from the old Willowbank Distillery in Dunedin, now they hand craft superb, blended whiskies and quality single malts. Only handmade copper stills are used at their boutique Distillery in Riverhead and 3 ingredients: quality malted barley, pure water and yeast. The Thomson team wanted to give New Zealanders a whisky they could be proud of, and I think they have achieved that goal. For Thomson small is beautiful and that means they can do it the way they like to, there are no big corporate dictates. As Matt Thomson says they are ""committed to quality over volume.
