Description
Two Rivers Pinot Gris has arisen from the ashes and is born again. The wizardry of Dave Clouston and his team means all turns to gold and we can see why this bird is flying once more. The juice was fermented cool, predominately in stainless steel to maximise fruit purity and distinctive varietal character. The wine was then aged on light yeast lees for four months to gain complexity and increase mouthfeel.
Smells
the nose reveals toasted coconut, fresh pear, and apple strudel aromas.
Tastes
A lovely almond color in the glass. Textured and dry, the wine has roasted almond flavors mingling with fresh thyme, wild fennel, and cinnamon. This multi-layered Pinot Gris is opulent yet clean and juicy with fresh acidity. Great balance and a waxy mouthfeel are complimented by a beautiful lemonade-type texture. The perfect accompaniment to cheese, summer salads, or roast chicken.
