Description

Not many producers have had the success with Viognier that Elephant Hill has had, a string of regular gold medals across many vintages a sign of its consistent excellence. 2020 is very approachable in its youth yet has great ageing potential. This Single Vineyard wine carries the new Sea moniker representing a single vineyard wine from the Te Awanga coast. Only small quantities were made of this barrel fermented, handpicked wine.

Smells

Stone fruit, citrus blossom, and subtle toasted nut notes, with hints of the classical aromas of canned apricots.

Tastes

Immediately approachable, with more subtle fruit and nutty, bready lees flavors. Beautifully rich and textured on the palate, it's a very balanced and stylish Viognier to enjoy with Thai food between now and 2026. A stunning example of a Viognier that few get right, whereas this wine delivers on every level.
